RR Donnelley From Phonebook Printer to MarTech Leader

Many will know RR Donnelley (RRD) as the company that prints the phonebooks. However, RRD understood that the world is quickly evolving, which is why they evolved their business from phonebook-printer to a full-blown marketing solutions company that helps much of the Fortune 500 create, manage, deliver, and optimize their multichannel marketing.

Doug Ryan, president of Marketing Solutions at RRD joins me on my daily tech podcast to share the story behind RRD’s evolution to a top agency and what a successful marketing program looks like in 2019. Doug leads RRD’s Marketing Solutions segment, which leverages an integrated portfolio of data analytics, creative services and multichannel execution to deliver comprehensive, end-to-end solutions that drive marketing ROI.

Doug is responsible for RRD’s direct mail, in-store marketing, digital print and digital solutions businesses. Doug joined RRD in November 2017. Prior to joining RRD, Doug served as President, North America, of Digitas, digital pioneers in one-to-one marketing. Doug was at Digitas for almost eight years, where he grew the P&L by $500 million.
