295: Enterprise Mobility & How The How the iPhone Changed The Enterprise Mobile Space
http://thesightseer.org/book/spirit-of-survival/ At MOBI, they centralize, comprehend, and control mobility programs by integrating with wireless carriers, EMMs, corporate IT systems, etc. Although the company is enjoying fantastic success at the moment, it’s incredibly start-up story behind the company that captured my attention. I invited Co-founder Josh Garrett onto the show to find out more.
After growing up on the northeast side of Indianapolis next-door neighbors to his fellow co-founder, Scott Kraege, he attended the Indiana University Kelley School of Business and graduated with a degree in Computer Information Systems. The story behind these childhood friends who used their own savings, borrowed funds from family, and what happened next with a little hustle muscle and a few lucky break is quite inspiring.
With it being the 10th anniversary of the iPhone, Josh can discuss how he thinks the world and how we do business has changed because of the iPhone and where he sees technology taking us in the next decade.Garrett also talks about the rise of virtual and digital assistants and how IT departments now have to keep track of four or five devices per worker, not to mention protect them from mobile malware.
As someone that still has IT blood running through my veins, it’s a pleasure to get Josh Garrett onto the show as he is responsible for creating the IT road map and strategy for MOBI as it relates to IT infrastructure and overall solutions. But all elements also focus on making MOBI an easy company for their customers to buy, implement and utilize.
Josh Garrett is a Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer. He is responsible for the technical vision and direction of the company, as well as the Solutions Architect Group, which works with customers on each MOBI implementation. Josh is actively involved in many aspects of the sales, operations and technical elements of the company and frequently meets with current and potential customers to understand their needs in the marketplace.
